Default Help with LDoA

So just got back into gw after a nice long break, I heard there has been some mesmer buffs and they've made it easier to get LDoA? someone please explain how so? I just made a new mesmer in proph and was gonna go for it, any tips on how to go about this would be appreciated thanks.

Once you reach level 10 in Pre, Lieutenant Langmar (in Ascalon City) will offer you daily quests that have foes scaled to your level and offers a 1k xp reward for turning it in. Meaning, you get relatively good xp while doing the quest, and get a nice chunk of xp for turning it in.

I got LDoA on my elementalist just a few days ago. The quest "Vanguard Rescue: Farmer Hamnet" offers the best farm xp, since there's a group right outside Foible's Fair that you can farm to your heart's desire. Unless you can deal with mindnumbing repetition of the same quest, I'd advise to farm the quest of the day (whatever it is) and turn it in once the quest for the next day updates. That way you always have a Vanguard quest active and can farm as you please

Reaching level 10 is still the same, pretty much just do all the quests, get your skills and then farm the "Charr at the Gate" quest until you reach it.

You can check the daily activities page on wiki to see the quest cycle Langmar offers, and the specific details of each.

Hope this helps, and good luck on your quest to LDoA

Im pretty sure the skill person next to Langmar doesn't give any new skills you couldn't have gotten before in pre, its just a place to get them all instead of running around getting them from the skill quests (someone correct me if im wrong)

timey is mostly correct.
there were skills unable to be obtained as secondary profession without him before the update

as for farming the northlands, if you take the across the wall quest and/or have the fire imp, you should be fine around 6-8.

It should be noted that lvl 6-8 in Northlands is ok if you have the imp (like already stated) AND if you know how to pull and make use of the terrain and imp for cover/blocking. Just having the imp won't help if you run straight at the Charr.

The same applies for the Vanguard quests, of which some are harder than farming Northlands.

Tip: For extra help, keep the quest "Across the Wall" active and take Ben Wolfson along with you on each hunt. He will offer some extra DPS and blocking (depending on how well you manage to keep him alive).

Tip: Keep and use the shields you get as reward from "Unsettling Rumors" and "Bandit Raid", they offer 9 AL and 14 vs Charr respectivelly.

Also consider the fact you only get 6 mesmer skills in Pre, of which none is an interrupt. So choose your secondary carefully. Personally I went with elementalist for Aura of Restoration and Firestorm (as well as for other useful spells in Energy, Water and Earth later on, but my mesmer is not a perma-pre).
